As the host of the Olympics in 2032, Brisbane and Queensland are already keen to attract investment and entrepreneurs to the region.

Working in partnership with fund managers QLD state government has green-lit a scheme that enables investors with AUD$ 1.5m to apply for an invitation to emigrate under the 188 visa route.

Let us assume for a moment that you meet the Commonwealth government’s 65 points requirement or get close enough to it that Queensland can exercise its discretion and award you an invitation to emigrate.

How does it work?

• You must demonstrate a genuine commitment to Queensland.
• Must have net business and personal assets of at least A$1.5 million ready to be transferred to Queensland

Breakdown of the funds

• Business investment of A$500,000
• A$1m held in a fund earning fixed interest and will be returned after 4-years.

Cost

We must assume the worst-case scenario. That the business, after four years, is worthless. However, the fund has generated A$ 75K p.a. Therefore, the cost is A$125k plus emigration fees for your family to emigrate to Australia.

Availability

There are less than 50 places available for 2023/24. They will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
